Trout 2.0 Mind Mapping for iPad is now available

Trout 2.0 Mind Mapping is now out on the App Store    

The main changes are that I have removed most of the custom UI elements which in the end didn't work so well and reverted back to standard system components.

I spent a lot of time using it in meetings and presentations and figuring out what didnt work in the previous version.

The map space now matches that of the OS X version so if you are working between the two via iCloud you can seamlessly view you maps on iPad and OS X

So for example when you touch a node you get a familiar iOS Menu for any actions related to it.

The same goes for links

Theres camera support and bookmarkable audio.

Ive also made the relationship viewer a lot more solid and useful.

What's happening with Trout for iPad

Plans plans.

Trout 1.3 went into the App Store review queue a few days ago. So I reckon it will be available to all you people in a week or so

I on the other hand am heading away for a few weeks to escape the London cold and there won't be any Internet AFAIK. 

I will trying out my new Sam Egan Squash 6'6 and generally sloshing around in tropical water.

genealogical lives here too

Hello to anyone who has come here since purchasing genealogical . You have come to the right place.  

To anyone interested in Trout Ive been working since about May on a new iPad app called genealogical  for family tree tracking.  Its now out on the  App Store but now that its finished I can get back to some much needed updates for Trout OS X and iPad 

Im trying to get Trout OS X 1.3 wrapped up before mid-january 2013 and then ill fix up Trout iPad which is starting to feel a bit dated. 

Fix found - New Documents

Hurrah - I have found the fix to the New Document crash issue.

(In the mean time you can find a workaround in the previous post)

Turns out it wasnt crashing which is why it was so hard to detect. A bit more subtle than that.

I have a batch of changes and bug fixes coming through so we should have a new 1.3 release come through before Xmas.

Further issues...

I have found an issue where if you dont have a document open "New Document" doesnt work.

So not so good for new customers.

There seems to be Chicken and Egg situation where if you dont have a Document window open then you cant create a new document.

1. Open Seed, leave it open.
2. Create New Document and save that.
3. You now have your own documents 

Its just like Sourdough bread.

Sorry folks. I'm unsure what the holdup is but I'm still waiting for review to complete.

It's annoying as I don't enjoy hearing that someone can't use it because of an OS upgrade.
